Children’s Mercy Sports Medicine Center Performance of the Week
Since 2021, Children’s Mercy Sports Medicine Center and 810 Varsity have partnered to name a weekly Children’s Mercy Sports Medicine Center Kansas City Metro Area High School Male and Female Student-Athlete Performance of the Week award.
Nominations are due each week, by Monday at noon.
On Monday afternoon, the selection committee reviews the nominations and chooses a weekly Male and Female winner. Then Thursday, the winners will be announced on both the 810 Varsity and the Children’s Mercy Sports Medicine Center social media channels, as well as 810Varsity.com.
At the end of the year, a Male and Female Student-Athlete of the Year will be selected, and each winner will be invited to be recognized at a Sporting KC match at Children’s Mercy Park.

Children’s Mercy Sports Medicine Center Rising Star Award
The Children’s Mercy Sports Medicine Center Rising Star Award is presented to a local girl (18 years of age or younger) who demonstrates outstanding leadership qualities, setting and achieving goals and has made a special impact on the community. This winner is recognized publicly at the annual WIN for KC banquet.

Children’s Mercy Sports Medicine Center Sportswoman of the Year
Children’s Mercy Sports Medicine Center Sportswoman of the Year is given to a local female athlete who is currently participating in amateur, high school, collegiate or professional sports. This athlete exemplifies all the positive aspects of sport and has made a positive impact on the Kansas City community. This award winner is recognized at the annual Kansas City Sports Awards banquet.

Children’s Mercy Sports Medicine Center Champions of Character High School Award
The Champions of Character® High School Award sponsored by Children’s Mercy Sports Medicine Center recognizes the Kansas City Metro area high school student-athletes who best exemplify the five Champions of Character core values (Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, Sportsmanship and Servant Leadership) in athletic competition and everyday life.
Each Kansas City metro area high school may nominate ONE student-athlete for this award. The nominee will be recognized at the NAIA Champions of Character Foundation Luncheon. One overall award winner will be chosen from all nominations and receive a $500 scholarship.
