Advanced Practice Providers
Advanced practice providers are educated at the master's or doctoral level and have specialized training to provide comprehensive care to patients and families in primary, subspecialty, and acute care areas. Advanced practice providers may be pediatric nurse practitioners (PNP), neonatal nurse practitioners (NNP), family nurse practitioners (FNP), clinical nurse specialists (CNS), or physician's assistants (PA).
Currently more than 200 advanced practice providers offer expert care across the organization, expanding access for patients and families. Advanced practice providers independently lead a variety of innovative programs at Children's Mercy. Some examples are:
