Julie Aust

Helping people better their careers is a passion of mine and I love meeting new people. I get to do what I love every day!

I have been a Senior Talent Recruiter here at Children’s Mercy for over 10 years and most importantly I’m a mother of two children. I want to hire the best here at Children's Mercy for not only my kids but for others.

I have the pleasure recruiting for the Children’s Mercy Research Institute, Department of Peds, Marketing, Philanthropy, Finance, Human Resources, Strategic Development and Legal.

Angela Brown

I’m a Senior Talent Recruiter here at Children’s Mercy, specializing in clinical roles across our ambulatory areas. One of my favorite parts of this work is getting to know candidates — what drives them, what excites them, and where they feel they can make the biggest impact. Helping someone find a role they genuinely love is an honor, and I’m proud to support the incredible teams who care for our patients and families.

Outside of work, I’m a mom to two busy girls, and my husband and I are big kids at heart. We love spending time together as a family and finding ways to keep life fun and full.

If you’re thinking about making a change and want to join an amazing team, visit the “Introduce Yourself” section on our Careers page or send me an email. I’d love to connect.

I’m a dedicated HR and talent acquisition professional with more than 15 years of leadership, recruiting, and operations experience across a variety of industries. Throughout my career, I’ve focused on building strong teams, creating positive workplace cultures, and helping organizations find and retain top talent.

I’m especially excited to join Children’s Mercy whose mission and values align with my own, because I believe the best work happens when you truly connect with an organization’s purpose and culture.

Outside of Recruiting and HR, my wife and I enjoy spending time with our three corgis, ballroom dancing, fishing, visiting amusement parks, and traveling whenever we get the chance. We value experiences that allow us to connect with people, stay active, and continue learning both personally and professionally.

I’d love to connect if you are seeking a new role where you can make a lasting impact.

Katie Evans

I am a Senior Talent Recruiter specializing in the recruitment of Advanced Practice Providers at Children’s Mercy Hospital. A proud graduate of Texas Tech University, I launched my recruitment career in 2011 by connecting Emergency Medicine physicians with rural hospitals. In 2016, I relocated to Kansas City and fulfilled a lifelong dream of working at a children’s hospital. Every day, I am committed to identifying and hiring the most qualified healthcare providers to deliver exceptional care to our patients and families.

Outside of work, my greatest joy is my family. Raising our son, and cherishing the simple moments—taking our Goldendoodle, Winnie, on walks, cooking meals side by side, and spending time on the farm. Those experiences remind me why my work matters: it’s about family, care, and community.

I’ve been recruiting in the healthcare space for 7 years now, specializing in the Allied Health space, where I focus on connecting talented professionals in Radiology, Clinical Lab, and Pharmacy with opportunities that help them grow and make a difference. I love being part of the journey that brings great people into roles where they can thrive and impact patient lives.

Outside of recruiting, I’m all about balance and fun. I’m a proud pug parent to two quirky pups who keep life entertaining, and when I’m not chasing them around, you’ll probably find me catching up on reality TV (yes, I’m a sucker for it). I’m also a former college basketball player, so teamwork, hustle, and perseverance are values I carry with me every day. And at my core, I’m a big nerd, whether it’s diving into new interests and video games, geeking out over random shows, or learning something unexpected, I love embracing curiosity and engaging in things that can help myself and my family grow.

I have the privilege of working alongside a Talent Acquisition team that connects incredible people with opportunities that shape the future of our organization.  With many years of recruiting experience, being in this role at Children’s Mercy feels especially meaningful and rewarding.  I love learning people’s stories, finding the right fit for their careers, and welcoming new team members into a place where their work truly matters.

In my role as a Talent Recruiter II at Children’s Mercy, I am currently supporting areas such as Social Work, Care Management, Patient and Family Support, IT/IS, Health Information Management and Spiritual Services, just to name a few.  Whether a role directly supports patients or works behind the scenes, each position contributes to our purpose of providing care to children and families.

Outside of work, life is all about family.  I have two daughters who certainly keep me busy.  Together we enjoy traveling and exploring new places and have discovered concerts as one of our favorite experiences to share.

Caleb Johnson

I am an entry-level clinical recruiter for a variety of teams here.  I love Children’s Mercy for many reasons, but the biggest is that this the hospital took care of my older sister when she needed life-saving surgery as an infant. Without this organization, I may have never met one of the most important people in my life. I’m grateful to be able to assist in staffing our teams with people who know how to make long-lasting memories for the families and children who come to this place for care.

In my spare time I can be found cuddling Hudson the dog and researching about amusement parks or participating in the roller coaster enthusiast community. My PTO is often spent in some rental car discussing Taylor Swift lyrics with my wife while driving her to obscure little amusement parks that most people have never heard of.

If you are looking to make a difference for this wonderful organization, I’d love to connect.
