Preparing for Your Visit

Masks are still required for everyone

Following CDC guidance, masks are still required for all visitors 2 years of age and older. Masks with filters/exhalation valves are not permitted.

We will continue to monitor CDC guidance regarding masking at health care facilities and communicate changes as needed.

What to do before your appointment(s)

  • For a faster check-in experience, it’s important that you complete pre-registration. If you have not already pre-registered, please do so now.

Pre-register for your appointment


  • Take a picture of the front and back of your insurance card; email the picture(s) to, along with the patient's full name and date of birth.
  • Verify your insurance includes Children's Mercy as an in-network provider by visiting
  • Two parents/guardians can attend with the patient. Other family members and siblings should stay home for the safety of our patients and staff. If this restriction poses a concern, please call (816) 234-3670 for assistance.

What to bring with you to your appointment(s)

  • Driver's license or photo ID
  • Medical and pharmacy insurance card(s)
  • Mask for you and the patient over the age of 2 (if you don’t have a mask, one will be provided)
  • Form of payment to pay requested deposit

When you arrive for your appointment(s)

  • When you arrive at your appointment location, you will stop at a screening station.
  • Check in for your child’s appointment using the QR codes that can be found at screening stations, in the elevators, or on the sign-in screen in each clinic.
    • Take a picture of the QR code using the camera on your smartphone (some models) or by downloading a QR scanning application. You can also enter the URL from the flyer directly into your cell phone browser.
    • If you have any concerns or problems, head to clinic and go to the desk to tell the Access Rep you have arrived.

  • If your child or the adult joining for the appointment have respiratory symptoms, a fever, or exposure to COVID-19, please do not come to your appointment.
