The International Adoption Clinic provides a full range of pre- and post-adoptive services to assist families address the unique health considerations of internationally adopted children.

Pre-adoption clinic


We provide pre-adoption counseling through a telephone conference call or an office visit which will provide a greater understanding of potential medical issues through a review of the prospective child's medical records, photographs and/or videotapes. Fees for this service vary and are payable by parents at the time of service.

Post-adoption clinic

 

We provide a post-adoption clinic twice per month on Friday afternoons. The clinic visit provides an overall general medical evaluation focusing on: disease screening (hepatitis, HIV, tuberculosis, etc.), immunization status, growth and development. Fees for these services are billable to insurance.

The Division of Infectious Diseases staff members coordinate appointments, as needed, with specialists from:

  • Pediatric Infectious Diseases

  • General Pediatrics

  • Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics

  • Nutrition

  • PT/OT

  • Social Work

  • Hearing and Speech
