Employee Prescription Drug Delivery Service

Children’s Mercy and the Take CARE Employee Clinic and Pharmacy offer a convenient prescription drug delivery service for Adele Hall Campus and CM Broadway employees. This program also includes over-the-counter (OTC) items.

What you need to know

  • Your spouse and dependent(s) of any age also are eligible for this service.

  • You do not need to be a patient at the Take CARE Employee Clinic to take advantage of the service or be enrolled in a CM medical plan. If you aren’t enrolled in a CM medical plan, you can pay market-competitive prices for prescription drugs and purchase OTC items.

What you (or your provider) need to do to participate

Request a refilled prescription or OTC item — or ask your provider to order a prescription — from the Take CARE Employee Clinic and Pharmacy, noting that it is for delivery to either the Adele Hall Campus or Children’s Mercy Broadway. You have until 6 p.m. the business day before delivery to make your request.

You can submit your request in one of four ways:

  • Send a message via the Take CARE Employee Clinic’s Patient Portal. (You will receive an email invitation to the portal after your first visit to the center, or you can call (816) 412-2355 to request a portal invitation.)

  • Call the Take CARE Employee Clinic and Pharmacy at (816) 412-2358.

  • Drop off your prescription to the Take CARE Employee Clinic and Pharmacy.

  • Email CMHKCWC_Pharmacy@cerner.com and provide the Rx number for the prescription you would like to refill or indicate which OTC you need.

What the Take CARE Employee Clinic and Pharmacy will do

  • A pharmacy staff member will call you the day before delivery to confirm your request and take your credit, debit or Flexible Spending Account card payment information, if you have not already given it. Cash is not accepted. The pharmacy staff member also will offer to counsel you on your prescription.

  • A pharmacy technician will deliver your items to your location on the next delivery day.

If you don’t pick up your prescription or OTC item

If you don’t pick up your prescription or OTC item as confirmed, please pick it up on the next delivery day.
The pharmacy will keep the prescription or OTC item for two weeks.
