Frequently Asked Questions about the Volunteer Program

Within a few weeks of your orientation, you will be contacted by your volunteer supervisor to set up your volunteer site-specific training. Volunteer shifts are a weekly three-hour commitment assigned and scheduled over a period of time.

Do you offer college internships and shadowing opportunities?
No, Volunteer and Guest Services does not offer college internships or shadowing opportunities at this time.

Where do I park?
Volunteers will receive a parking pass at New Volunteer Orientation if they volunteer at Children's Mercy South or Children's Mercy - Adele Hall Campus. At other Children's Mercy locations, parking passes are not necessary. Parking passes should be clearly visible on the driver's side dashboard. Volunteers receive free, preferential parking at all locations.
