Time Off Benefits

Time off when you need it

Children's Mercy's time off benefits provide you with pay when you're unable to work.

A few of the time-off benefits available to non-faculty employees include (but are not limited to):

  • Paid Time Off (PTO), which pays if you are unable to work due to a personal reason, including a holiday, vacation, time off to care for a sick child or family member, or a personal short-term illness.

  • Extended Illness Time (EIT), which pays when you are unable to work due to a longer-term personal illness.

  • Family Pay (FP), which pays if you are unable to work because you need to care for an immediate family member with a serious medical condition or to bond with a new child.

Faculty have separate vacation and sick time programs, however, they’re eligible for FP.

If you have questions about time off benefits, please contact the Benefits Hotline at (816) 234-3200.
