Children's Mercy Critical Care Transport
Program, which began in 1971, has two bases currently at Children's Mercy Kansas City's main campus near downtown Kansas City, Mo and at Children's Mercy Kansas in Overland Park, KS.
Eleven ground ambulances move between the two bases while the helicopter is primarily based at the main campus. The
fixed-wing aircraft and Lear jet are hangered at the Charles B. Wheeler
Downtown Airport located three miles northwest of Children's

Transport provides support to healthcare providers and facilities
throughout Missouri and Kansas, as well as nationally and
internationally. The transport team members are committed to
providing exceptional, cutting edge family-centered care for all neonatal and pediatric patients from the moment they reach the patient, throughout the transport until they reach their destination. The mode of transport utilized for each child is determined primarily by patient acuity, distance and weather.
