Welcome to the Children’s Mercy Pediatric Endocrinology Fellowship Program! We encourage you to explore our website and contact us if you have any questions.

Our program is a three-year, ACGME-accredited fellowship program that strives to prepare the next generation of physicians to be competent and compassionate pediatric endocrinologists by providing broad clinical training in general and subspecialty endocrine care, as well as a foundation in scholarly activities to include research, quality improvement, and teaching, to advance the health of all children.

Our fellowship highlights include:

 A large endocrinology division, consisting of more than 20 physician faculty and 4 nurse practitioners in Kansas City with additional faculty and nurse practitioners at our regional sites.

Serving a very large catchment area (all of Kansas, about half of Missouri, and areas of Oklahoma and Arkansas).

Personalization of fellowship experience to align with personal and career goals.

o   Prior fellows have obtained master’s degrees in Public Health and Health Professions Education, as well as secondary board certification in informatics and obesity medicine.

o   Research opportunities in multiple areas of endocrinology and diabetes, including multi-center studies. 

Multiple multidisciplinary/subspecialty clinics including:

o   Turner Syndrome 

o   22q Deletion Syndrome 

o   Differences in Sex Development 

o   Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS, formerly known as PCOS) 

o   Endocrine Disorders in Cancer Survivors

o   Prader-Willi Syndrome 

o   Thyroid nodules 

One of the largest diabetes programs in the country, serving approximately 2500 patients with diabetes with approximately 300 patients with new onset diabetes each year.

We seek fellows who are motivated to learn and explore the field of pediatric endocrinology and are excited to join our.
