Scholarship
Pediatric Endocrinology Fellowship
Children’s Mercy Endocrinology Fellowship program aims to train future academic endocrinologists through exposure to different types of scholarly works, including traditional clinical research, education, and quality improvement opportunities.
Quality Improvement
Our diabetes center has a robust Quality Improvement team focused on different aspects of diabetes care, including community outreach, new onset education, EMR integration, and transition to adult care. Efforts to improve clinical care in congenital hypothyroidism, adrenal insufficiency, and Turner Syndrome have also been a focus of the division in the past.
Education
Children’s Mercy as a whole serves to educate the next generation of pediatric clinicians. There are ample opportunities to be involved in education of residents, medical students, nursing staff, and other fellows, including regular didactic sessions, developing curricula, or making improvements in our educational mission within the division of endocrinology.
Research
Many of our faculty have ongoing projects in areas such as obesity medicine, PMOS, type 1 diabetes, growth hormone deficiency, and hypothyroidism.
