Employee Wellness Center

The Employee Wellness Center provides employees, spouses and adult children (ages 18 through 25) with convenient access to quality, affordable on-site health care. The center’s on-site pharmacy also serves employees and their entire family, including children under the age of 18.

The center is located in Crown Center at 2401 Grand, near Panera Bread.

Note: The Employee Wellness Center accepts only credit, debit and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) cards. The center does not accept cash.

What to expect

With careful attention to every detail, the Employee Wellness Center will exceed your expectations: 

  • Complete care. Services include primary, preventive and urgent care, including minor medical procedures. 
  • Medical Home. If you don't have a primary care provider, you can make the center your medical home. The providers will help you manage your health, including chronic conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, osteoarthritis, low back pain and more.
  • Lab services. If you need lab work, it will be done at the time of your appointment. 
  • Affordable care. If you are enrolled in a Children's Mercy medical plan, you will pay a $10 copay for urgent and primary care, including minor medical procedures; preventive care is provided at no cost. If you are not enrolled in a Children's Mercy medical plan, you will pay a market-competitive rate for services.
  • Pharmacy services. You may fill prescriptions for you and your family at the on-site pharmacy, including prescriptions from other health care providers. The pharmacy also offers a prescription delivery service to certain Children's Mercy locations.
  • Behavioral health services. Counseling is provided for anxiety, stress, mild depression, and family and marital difficulties when you are referred by an Employee Wellness Center health care provider or ComPsych, Children’s Mercy’s Employee Assistance Program provider.
  • Privacy. From the carefully designed floor plan, to the bathrooms within care suites, to the confidential storage of electronic medical records, your privacy is protected. Children's Mercy employees never have access to your medical information. All care team members are Cerner employees, including the physicians, family nurse practitioners, pharmacists and medical assistants. 
  • No paperwork. If you are covered by a Children's Mercy medical plan, you will not file claims or do any paperwork. If you're not enrolled in a Children's Mercy medical plan, you will receive paperwork to file your own claims. 
  • Wellness services. Among the wellness services available to you are on-site health coaching and on-site fitness and wellness classes in the Wellness Classroom.

Our partnership with Cerner

Cerner, an experienced leader in providing on-site health services, owns and operates the Employee Wellness Center, per agreement with Children's Mercy.
