The Polyposis Center at Children's Mercy Kansas City offers specialized care for children with gastrointestinal polyps. We are the only comprehensive, multidisciplinary team in the region with expertise in diagnosing and treating pediatric polyps and related syndromes such as hereditary cancer, juvenile polyps and hereditary polyps.

Why children need specialized care

Gastrointestinal polyps can lead to serious health issues. Children with certain types of polyps may be at risk for developing various cancers, including gastrointestinal cancer. They may also have gene mutations that require specialized care and further testing of siblings and parents. This is why Children's Mercy is dedicated to providing comprehensive care supported by the latest research and treatment options.

Gastrointestinal Polyposis Center Staff

Our team features two board-certified gastroenterologists who are recognized for their expertise in treating pediatric patients with gastrointestinal polyps. Other staff also includes a dedicated research assistant, a clinic coordinator and a certified genetic counselor.
