Developmental and Behavioral Sciences CARE Workshop for Parents
Developmental and Behavioral Sciences CARE Workshop for Parents

Child-Adult Relationship Enhancement (CARE) Workshops were developed for parents and caregivers of children who have experienced traumatic events or struggle with behavior problems. The workshops also help parents build a stronger relationship with their child.

About the Sessions

CARE workshops are held in two sessions that are fun and interactive. The sessions utilize the three "P" skills to connect with children:

  • Praise
  • Paraphrase
  • Point-Out Behavior

The CARE Workshops also teach set of techniques for giving children effective, positive commands and selective ignoring techniques to redirect problematic behavior.

CARE Workshops are provided by Children's Mercy Hospital through funding provided in whole by the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City.
