Year 1 Progress Update
Children’s Mercy completed the first pediatric Community Health Needs Assessment in the Greater Kansas City Area in 2013. This effort, with the help of Professional Research Consultants, allowed us to formally identify the primary healthcare needs of children in our community and begin to establish some strategies to address those needs.

It has been a year since we completed our findings and we are proud to say that through continuing existing programs and creating new initiatives, this last year has been a period of significant advancement in each of our top three identified needs. Although we still have work to do, we are confident that our efforts, in collaboration with community organizations and individuals, are set up well to continue improving outcomes for future years for the children in our community.
