In addition to the Certificate Program in Pediatric Bioethics and the Pediatric Ethics Fellowship, the CMBC organizes and collaborates on other education initiatives within and beyond Children’s Mercy.
Alumni Speaker Series
This quarterly series began in 2025. It features graduates of the Certificate Program in Pediatric Bioethics presenting their research on an ethical topic of their choice.

Ethics Brown Bag Workshop Series (hosted by the CM Ethics Committee)
This long-standing monthly “lunch and learn” session is designed to present a topic of ethical interest within Children’s Mercy and the community. Now delivered online, this session is open to non-employees as well.

Ethics Forums (hosted by the CM Ethics Committee)
First established in 1988, Children’s Mercy’s Nursing Ethics Forum provides resources, support, and education for nurses in dealing with ethical issues. Additional unit-based ethics forums subsequently formed, offering a space for discussing ethical issues.

Bioethics is featured in the digital newsletter published by Children's Mercy providing education to an audience of local, regional and national pediatric providers, on subjects related to current medical trends, developments in best practices and analysis of hot topics.
