Children's Mercy Hospitals Network (CMHN) and
GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) have partnered together
since 2001 to provide physicians access to contracted pricing on
The collective purchasing power
of CMHN continues to provide contracted physicians and physician groups upfront discounts on the following GSK vaccines:
Boostrix, Cervarix, Energix-B, Fluarix, Havrix, Hiberix, Infanrix,
Kinrix, Pediarix, Rotarix and Twinrix.
There is also the opportunity to earn
maximum rebates up to 28 percent.
What differentiates this contract from others in the marketplace:
- Every new GSK vaccine introduced to the market is automatically
added to our contract and available for rebate earnings.
- In the event of a vaccine shortage, 85 percent of all available
products get to Child Health Advantage customers.
- This contract allows for only one price increase per
calendar year, while all other GSK customers are subject to
- Our contract allows for a 3 percent administrative fee payable to develop educational
programs for our network participants and their practices.
We continually evaluate contracting opportunities with other
vaccine manufacturers. At this time, we believe it is in your best
interest to maintain our partnership with GSK. As we look to the
future of childhood immunizations, GSK's portfolio appears to be
the most comprehensive, providing the greatest coverage for
childhood and adolescent immunizations.
CMHN began offering discounted pricing on the
Novartis vaccine portfolio in April 2010. As of
April 2011, Child Health Advantage participants receive the best
pricing in the nation on the Menveo vaccine receiving 11
percent off list price when ordering online, plus an
additional two percent discount for prompt pay. Menveo
may be purchased through Besse Medical or Novartis Vaccines Direct.
Child Health Advantage participants may purchase other Novartis
vaccines (Ixiaro, RabAvert, and Fluvirin) through Novartis Direct
at competitive prices.
