Residencies at Children’s Mercy

A residency training experience at Children’s Mercy combines outstanding clinical experiences covering the entire array of pediatric medicine through an extremely diverse patient population.

Pediatric Residencies

Our Pediatric Residency Program is a three-year program and is accredited by the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education.

The University of Missouri-Kansas City Internal Medicine Pediatrics (Med/Peds) Residency is comprised of three individual hospitals that come together to provide a diverse and excellent education.

Subspecialty Residencies

The Residency Program in the Division of Neurology at Children's Mercy Kansas City is an ACGME-accredited categorical training program that offers residents a range of experiences while preparing them to be excellent clinicians and academic leaders.

The Pediatric Dentistry Graduate Program is sponsored by Children's Mercy and affiliated with the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry. The dental school is located adjacent to the hospital and provides an excellent opportunity for experiences in interdisciplinary dental care for children.

The Pediatric Optometry Residency is based in the Section of Ophthalmology at Children's Mercy Kansas City.

Children’s Mercy has a large group of highly qualified and dedicated preceptors eager to help residents develop their clinical pediatric skills.


If you are currently enrolled in a nursing program or have recently graduated from nursing school, you are invited to apply to our "Introductory Staff Nurse" job posting. All hired into our Introductory Staff Nurse position are automatically enrolled into our Nurse Residency Program.
