Surgical Scholars Research Program

Pediatric Surgery Fellowship

The Surgical Scholars Program at Children's Mercy was established in 2005 to provide clinical research opportunities for aspiring pediatric surgeons.

This program was established shortly after the formation of the Center for Prospective Clinical Trialsand builds on our interest in prospective clinical research. This has expanded to involve health services research. The primary criteria for selection as our surgical scholar is an interest in clinical research. Please visit our Center for Prospective Clinical Trials website for a description of the various prospective trials in progress.

In addition, the resident must be PGY-3 or above when he/she begins the program. This requirement is necessary so that the resident can participate in senior-level call responsibilities.
