Outpatient

Each outpatient block has a clinical focus to consolidate learning and build on experience.  There are also opportunities to rotate with other subspecialists (listed above in italics) to expand the fellow’s knowledge and clinical exposure. Our clinics include:

  • Baclofen Pump

  • Brachial Plexus Injury

  • Concussion

  • EMG

  • General Rehab

  • Limb Differences

  • Muscle/Nerve

  • Procedure clinics (toxins)

  • Seating

  • Spasticity/Movement Disorders

  • Spinal Cord Injury

  • Spinal Differences

  • Stroke

  • Torticollis

Fellows have Continuity Clinic twice each month and Procedure Clinic monthly. This allows each fellow to consistently follow patients throughout their training and provides dedicated procedure time for these patients.  Additional procedure training is provided throughout the outpatient rotations, including a variety of toxins and phenol.

The inpatient rotation consists of rounding on patients admitted to the Inpatient Rehabilitation Program and consults.

Research

There are 3 research months, divided depending on the individual fellow’s project.  Typically, the PGY5 fellow participates in 1 week of dedicated research time during July and August, 2 weeks in November, and a full month in April with time to complete/finalize the project in October during the PGY6 year.
