At the Division of Dermatology at Children’s Mercy, we are committed to high-quality patient care enhanced by academic and research endeavors. We offer a diverse and rich clinical environment with an active outpatient and inpatient consultation service.

We offer a one-year Pediatric Dermatology Fellowship Program accredited by the ACGME. The fellowship provides a broad-based, comprehensive clinical, educational and research experience in the field of pediatric dermatology.

We also offer experience in procedural pediatric dermatology including excisional surgery and laser therapy. Upon completion of the fellowship program, fellows will be eligible for board certification in pediatric dermatology through the American Board of Dermatology.

The Pediatric Dermatology Fellow is required to complete one research project during their fellowship year. The Division of Dermatology is actively involved in several clinical research endeavors and several of our division members are founding members of the Hemangioma Investigator Group, which collaborates on numerous clinical studies focusing on infantile hemangiomas. The fellow is also encouraged to submit case reports for publication and presentation at the national meeting.

Our faculty includes five Pediatric Dermatologists, all of whom are board certified in pediatrics and/or dermatology, and four of whom are trained in both sub-specialties and boarded in pediatric dermatology. We also have six advanced practice nurses and an excellent nursing staff.
