Bylaws for Kids KC

Membership

• Members are ages 13 -18 years old and are currently patients at Children’s Mercy (membership may extend beyond age 18 if still a current patient). 

• Members will participate on a minimum of 1 additional teen board (TAB or HOT) through Children’s Mercy.

• The board consists of a minimum of eight members.

• Members should not miss more than 60% of meetings due to unexcused absences.

• Members will display mutual respectful behaviors at all times.

• Members will maintain good attendance and good efforts at school.
  
  

Meetings

• The board will meet once every month on Monday evenings. There may be additional meetings due to special events.

• The meetings will be 1 hour in length at a predetermined location.

• The meeting and agenda will be distributed to all parties.
  
  

Parental involvement

• Parents support their teen’s involvement in the KIDS KC Board

• Parents may be asked to participate and give feedback at times during meetings. The opportunities will be scheduled in advance.

• The parent(s) assumes responsibility for transporting to the meetings and activities. 

• The parent authorization form allowing pictures of the board members to be taken will be signed. These pictures may be used for various projects and publicity.
