Sub-Internship (Pediatrics)
Description: Focus of this rotation for the medical student is to obtain a more intense exposure to inpatient pediatrics and be able to develop advanced pediatric inpatient management skills. The student will be assigned to one of the general inpatient services and work under close supervision of the senior resident and attending physician.
Educational objectives:
- Participate at the near-intern level on a general pediatric inpatient team.
- Admit, manage and discharge a variety of typical pediatric inpatient conditions.

Format: Inpatient
Prerequisites: Completion of the Core Pediatric Clerkship with a minimum of four weeks of inpatient pediatrics.
Calls: Four calls
Criteria for passing: Satisfactory performance on the clinical rotation.
Criteria for honors: Outstanding performance on the clinical rotation.
