Pediatric Sports Medicine

Educational objectives

Demonstrate sufficient musculoskeletal exam skills
Understand how to manage sports related conditions including both musculoskeletal and medical conditions
Proper management of concussion
Understand how to work on a multi-disciplinary team including physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and athletic trainers

Elective duration: Four weeks

Typical schedule:

Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm.
Depending on the time of year, evening or weekend sideline event coverage is an option.

Rotation closed: July

Prerequisites: Completion of the Core Pediatric Clerkship and must be in final year of medical school.

Criteria for passing: Successful clinical evaluation. Complete reading assignments, Complete oral or written project.
