How to Apply

Congenital Cardiac Surgery Fellowship

The Children's Mercy Pediatric Congenital Surgery Fellowship Program is sponsored by the University of Kansas School of Medicine. Prospective candidates should apply through the Thoracic Surgery Directors Association (TSDA). Beginning June 2019, the program will participate in the San Francisco Matching Program (SF MATCH).

Application Requirements and Details

Three letters of recommendation, one from your current program director and two from faculty are required.

In addition to the letters of recommendation a performance evaluation form is required from each of the letter writers. Your performance evaluation form can be e-mailed directly to: Nancy Draffen-Brown, MBA.

Interviews provide the opportunity for candidates to meet our staff, tour our excellent facilities, and interact with current fellows. Interviews are generally held from August to October. Children's Mercy will arrange and pay for accommodations for one night at a local hotel.

Children's Mercy also reimburses up to $300 in travel expenses for those candidates who travel from outside the Kansas City Metro area to interview.
