Atopic Dermatitis: Infected - Cephalexin
25-50 mg /kg/ day divided 3 times daily X 10 days (Maximum- 500mg / dose not to exceed 4000 mg / day).
Goal dose: 40mg/ kg/ day.
Note: Dosing for infected atopic dermatitis falls outside of the ABS Guidelines Dosing guidelines per CMHKC Outpatient Antibiotic Stewardship Handbook Version 4, (2020, June) 9-17 mg/kg/dose PO 3 times daily (maximum 250 mg/ dose) x 5-7 days.
Concentration: 125mg/ 5ml, 250mg/ 5ml Capsule/ tablet: 250mg, 500mg.
