How to Apply

Pediatric Pathology Fellowship

Graduate physicians may apply directly. The following items must accompany the Pediatric Pathology Application and should be submitted if you are interested in applying for a fellowship position with Children's Mercy's Pediatric Pathology Program:

  • Letter of interest

  • Curriculum vitae

  • Three letters of recommendation

  • Standard ECFMG certificate for all international medical graduates

Invitations for interviews are extended to selected candidates. Candidates are chosen on the basis of their medical training, general achievements and personal qualities. During the interview, you will meet the department chair, director, members of the fellowship selection committee, other faculty and current fellows in order to learn about the personal qualities that are required of a successful fellow. We will give you a tour of our facilities and offer you plenty of opportunities to have your questions answered.

Children’s Mercy Hospital primarily accepts international medical graduates for residency and fellowship programs in J-1 visa status.  To be eligible for appointment, all international medical graduates must be sponsored by ECFMG for J-1 non-immigrant classification.  CM will make all reasonable efforts to obtain the requested immigration benefit including the transfer of an existing H1B.  However, we cannot guarantee any specific category of visa or any result, and CM may end or withdraw its sponsorship at any time if sponsorship was no longer feasible due to legitimate business reasons.  CM reserves the right to make final decisions about sponsorship in its discretion and in compliance with U.S. law, regulations, and policy.
