The Hearing and Speech Department/Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology Clinical Practicum

 

The Hearing and Speech Department is committed to graduate level clinical education in pediatric audiology and speech-language pathology. We offer clinic practicum rotations in both disciplines. A clinical affiliation agreement between CMH and your university is required.

All staff hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence through the American Speech Language Hearing Association. We work directly with your university's clinical practicum coordinator and communicate directly with them; however, general questions may be directed to Asheigh Redding, M.A., CCC-A or Janelle Stevens, M.A.,CCC-SLP

 

Audiology Externship


The Hearing and Speech Department offers a paid, 12-month Audiology Externship. This opportunity is posted on the Children's Mercy website under “Careers” (when available).  It is typically posted in August or September and the externship begins the following May or June. 

All staff hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence through the American Speech Language Hearing Association. Additionally, audiologists are certified preceptors by the American Academy of Audiology. A clinical affiliation agreement between Children's Mercy and your university is required.
