Locations
Pediatric Clinical Pharmacology Fellowship
The Division of Clinical Pharmacology, Toxicology and Therapeutic Innovation is located on the third floor of the Children's Mercy Research Institute building. This space includes the division offices and laboratories. Specific areas within the facility are designed for and devoted to cell culture, protein biochemistry, molecular biology, high throughput DNA sequencing, and various genotyping platforms for applied research. The space is adjacent to the Mass Spectrometry and Bioanalysis Core lab.
Clinical Research Unit
The Pediatric Clinical Research Unit (PCRU) is a six-bed inpatient facility designed for the conduct of high-quality pediatric clinical research led by investigators from all departments at Children’s Mercy. The self-contained clinical research nursing unit has accommodations for both inpatient and outpatient studies and provides safe and protocol-compliant specialized clinical care to subjects participating in an Institutional Review Board-approved clinical investigation. This unit meets all applicable FDA/ICH guidelines for a phase I study unit and fully meets accreditation standards by the Joint Commission (JCAHO).
Research Laboratory Building
Founded in 2016, Children’s Mercy Research Institute (CMRI) was developed to transform the outstanding clinical care environment of Children’s Mercy Kansas City by integrating pediatric translational research. The goal of the CMRI is to become a national leader in pediatric translational research over the next several years.
The CMRI building opened in October 2020 with 9 floors, each 42,000 gsf in area. In addition to the wet- and dry-lab facilities on the upper floors, the first floor of the CMRI building provides meeting and conference facilities.
