The Fellowship Program in the Division of Neurology at Children's Mercy Hospitals and Clinics (CMH) includes a thriving inpatient service, daily outpatient clinics and our own neurophysiology laboratory located at the main campus.
Our training program is run in conjunction with the University of Kansas Medical Center. Our residents receive superb clinical training in both the outpatient clinic and on the inpatient service and gain experience in the treatment and management of a wide variety of pediatric neurological disorders.
Department & Faculty
The Section of Child Neurology at Children's Mercy Hospital has eight board certified child neurologists dedicated to excellent patient care and education in daily practice.
The child neurology training program at CMH is ACGME-accredited categorical training program. Rotations include 12 months of inpatient and outpatient child neurology; 12 months of inpatient and outpatient adult neurology; and 12 months of time in which the resident learns the clinical sciences on which child neurology is founded. A one-month rotation in child psychiatry is required.
To enter the child neurology training program at CMH, prospective applicants must have successfully completed two years in a pediatric residency or have completed one year in pediatrics and one year in internal medicine. Children's Mercy Hospital offers a five-year integrated program to prospective applicants who are interested in completing both their preliminary pediatrics training and their child neurology training at CMH. Entrance is at the PGY-3 level.
