Join us in building a healthier future.

Creating the right health care for the right person is called precision medicine. This is the goal of the All of Us Research Program from the National Institutes of Health. When you join All of Us, you become part of something bigger than yourself. You join a historic movement to speed up research that could improve health for everyone.

With more than 870,000 participants enrolled, All of Us is already one of the largest research programs of its kind. Each new participant brings us closer to our goal of enrolling a million or more people.

Enrollment is open to all eligible adults who live in the United States. Children can also participate by enrolling at some locations, including Children’s Mercy and the University of Kansas Medical Center

What is Children's Mercy's role?

Children’s Mercy has partnered locally with the University of Kansas Medical Center as a member of the All of Us Research Program - Heartland Consortium. We believe that when we come together, we can do incredible things, which is why we hope you will join in our efforts.

We can't get there without you.

People join for many reasons. Some people join because they can:

  • Help improve the health of their families, communities, and future generations.
  • Help researchers find better and tailored ways for people to stay healthy.
  • Help researchers create better tests and treatments.
  • Learn more about their health.

The longer a person stays involved with All of Us, the more information they can share about their health and well-being. This sharing can help speed up health research and medical breakthroughs. They may also learn more about themselves and their health.

After you consent to join All of Us, you can also enroll your child aged four years and younger:

  • Create an account for your child within your All of Us Your child’s account will be linked to your account.
  • Give permission for your child to become an All of Us

As participants, you and your child will be able to choose how much you would like to participate. You can decide to:

  • Share your electronic health records.
  • Answer health surveys.
  • Come in for an in-person visit to provide physical measurements (such as height and weight) and give a blood or saliva and urine sample).*
  • Mail a saliva sample from home (this option is only available to adult participants).

*As an adult participant, you will receive $25 after completing an in-person visit to provide your samples and physical measurements. You also will receive $25 at the end of your child’s in-person visit when they provide their samples and physical measurements. Your child will receive a small thank you gift. Participants who do not complete an in-person visit will not receive $25.

Joining All of Us is free. All activities are free. There are no costs to you or your insurance to join the program.

The All of Us Research Program follows strict privacy and security protocols and processes to help keep participant data safe. Your privacy is very important and we will take great care to protect it if you join.
