Hip care from pediatric specialists

The Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Children’s Mercy Kansas City has been consistently recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the top pediatric orthopedic programs in the nation.  Our expert pediatric hip team offers comprehensive care for a wide variety of orthopedic conditions for pediatric, adolescent and young adult patients. Families travel across the Midwest to receive specialty care from our multidisciplinary team. This team is led by our board certified pediatric orthopedic surgeons who have extensive training and expertise in a wide variety of congenital, acquired and developmental conditions of the hip.

We work collaboratively with our nurses, physical therapists, orthotists, radiologists, and child life specialists to provide patient and family-centered care tailored to the needs of your growing child. We utilize cutting-edge surgical and nonsurgical treatment to provide coordinated and compassionate care that improves the quality of life of our patients. Our access to advanced imaging studies, including low radiation EOS x-ray imaging, as well as a state-of-the-art motion analysis and human performance lab allow us to better understand the needs of your child and their orthopedic condition. We are committed to supporting your child and family every step of the way.

In addition to providing excellent clinical care, our team has a strong commitment to research. We are focused on improving the treatment, diagnosis, and prevention of pediatric and young adult hip conditions.
