To assure the safety of our applicants, faculty, staff and patients, we are conducting all interviews for Fall 2020 virtually. Every effort will be made to make sure Children’s Mercy commitment to clinical excellence, dedicated teaching, innovative research, and a warm and supportive environment is visible to you. If you are unfamiliar with Kansas City, please take a few minutes to explore what we have to offer. We guarantee you will like what you see!

How to Apply

Fellow applicants must be completing or completed an accredited residency in the United States and not have more than a two-year gap from time of completion to application. Individuals who are board eligible or certified in Internal Medicine, Neurology, Psychiatry, Pediatrics, Otolaryngology, and Family Medicine through an ACGME accredited program is a minimal requirement. Those with pediatric training are preferred. In exceptional instances, please contact the Program Director.  All candidates must have passed Step 3.

The Sleep Medicine Fellowship Program is under the institutional sponsorship of Children’s Mercy.  Prospective candidates for the Sleep Medicine Fellowship Program should apply through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). The program also participates in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). Application requirements are available through the ERAS system. We accept one fellow each year.

International Applicants

For international citizens, Children's Mercy primarily accepts applicants with J-1 Visa status. To be eligible for appointment, all international citizens must be sponsored by the ECFMG for the J-1 non-immigrant Visa classification and have and maintain valid ECFMG certification throughout the length of their training Program. In some cases, Children's Mercy will sponsor H-1B Visa candidate.  Fellows who wish to change their immigration classification while pursuing fellowship Program training at Children's Mercy, must seek prior written approval from the GME Department.  Failure to seek such approval will subject the trainee to immediate termination from his/her training program.
