The Medical Writing Center provides teaching and editing support to faculty, trainees, and research staff at Children’s Mercy. Our goal is to increase faculty productivity in scholarly publications, grants, and research projects through the following services:
Editing services include copyediting and proofreading, as well as more extensive guidance on the writing process itself. Our highly skilled scientific editors are experienced in helping researchers communicate their science clearly and effectively.
Researchers and faculty members may schedule one-on-one writing consultations with one of our editors to discuss a document at any stage of development.
Manuscript Preparation Groups
The Medical Writing Center can facilitate small peer-editing and writing groups for faculty or research teams working on manuscripts in the same content area.
Workshops are presented by Medical Writing Center staff periodically as part of the Office of Faculty Development’s annual educational programming. Topics include basic writing strategies for successful publications and grant proposals.
