Transition to Adulthood Conference

The Transition to Adulthood Program at Children’s Mercy is offering a free virtual conference to help teens, young adults and their parents/caregivers prepare for adulthood with different learning tracks for both.

The virtual conference is scheduled for Saturday, June 12, 2021 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Children’s Mercy has a dedicated team of professionals who provide current information and advice for schools and community leaders on returning to school and related activities during the COVID-19 pandemic. School Health Conference

An annual conference for school nurses and school health professionals provided to enhance nursing practice in the school setting. In 2020 the School Health Conference was held virtually for the first time and provided education on asthma, diabetes, and a panel that focused on COVID-19 updates with infectious disease, managing anxiety and fear with social and behavioral medicine, and firsthand experience with Shawnee Mission school nurse.

Community outreach portal

Children's Mercy is committed to providing health resources and education to the communities we serve. To request Children’s Mercy’s participation in a health fair, conference or event, or if your staff needs education, training, or support related to a children’s health issue, please fill out and submit a Community Request form. Requests are reviewed weekly and a representative will contact you to confirm participation. Given the current climate and restrictions due to COVID-19, we are also available for virtual events.

The Hospital-Based School Program at Children’s Mercy provides efficient and effective educational experiences for the hospital school-aged population who choose to accept their services.
