This one-day course provides an opportunity to learn about healthy homes and understand that energy efficiency is only one part of a safe and healthy home. Participants will become aware of a wider array of housing problems they may encounter and how to address them.
The course is presented through a partnership between Children’s Mercy, and the Metropolitan Energy Center of Kansas City, MO.

What you’ll learn
Participants will learn strategies for combining healthy homes and energy efficiency work for more of a “one-touch” home improvement approach. Participants will also learn the following:
Four additional items to add to energy audits to better identify healthy housing issues
Three critical health protections to undertake during all energy upgrade work
Three low cost health improvements that can be added to weatherization or energy upgrade jobs
Local organizations to refer clients/contractors for lead, asthma, housing repairs, pest issues, radon (if applicable), and asbestos.
6 CEU’s are available to BPI Certified Professionals by the Building Performance Institute, Inc.
