Code Inspection for Healthy Homes

The Code Inspection for Healthier Homes course is a half- to full-day course designed to create awareness of environmental hazards when performing a holistic code inspection. This essentially addresses health and safety issues by identifying code violations during the inspection. The health-related provisions of state and local housing codes and the International Property Maintenance Code will be discussed as well as strategies to help inspectors when addressing a client’s legal concerns.

  • The prevalence of common housing maintenance problems based on the American Housing Survey
