November 2013 Dr. Kilbride Receives MWSPR Founders Award
Howard Kilbride, MD, Division Director-Neonatology and Vice Chair of Perinatal Services at Children’s Mercy, has been named the 2013 recipient of the Midwest Society for Pediatric Research (MWSPR) Fomon-Peterson Founders Award.

The Founders Award is presented annually to a senior member of the MWSPR for fostering advances in pediatric research and contributing to the development of the careers of academic pediatricians. Dr. Kilbride has been active in MWSPR for nearly three decades. He has served as council member, Secretary Treasurer, President and Past President of the organization.

Dr. Kilbride has been instrumental in many MWSPR policy directions, including rotating the organization’s annual meetings to academic centers throughout the Midwest. He was President of MWSPR in 2009 when the group celebrated its 50th anniversary, and he authored a history manual of the society distributed on its 50th anniversary and available online today. Children’s Mercy will host the 2015 MWSPR annual meeting in Kansas City.
