Pediatric cardiology has made tremendous advances during the last several years, but until recently there hasn’t been a unified effort to look at interventions across the various centers in the country that perform pediatric procedures to determine best practices. Just over a year ago, the Cardiovascular Laboratory at CMH joined the IMPACT Registry, a huge database that provides information on outcomes from 75 centers and about 8,000 patients across the U.S. In this week’s podcast, Stephen Kaine, MD, Director of the Cardiovascular Laboratory at Children’s Mercy and Associate Director of the Ward Family Heart Center, talks with Jason about how Children’s Mercy’s participation in IMPACT (Improving Pediatric and Adult Congenital Treatment) will help guide quality improvement initiatives and lead to better clinical results. (Time: 13 minutes)
