Home Based Family Support Programs

Having a new baby can be quite a challenge at times, especially when families are already stretched by all the other things they have to manage. The Community Programs staff of the Department of Social Work can offer support and information to some families in their homes when there is a pregnant woman or an infant. Workers can come to a family’s home to provide child development information to help build a strong bond between parent and baby, to address barriers to health care, to connect families to other community services when needed, and to partner with families to solve problems and reach their goals. The Healthy Families America and TIES Programs provide this support in the home. For more information, please call the Community Programs Department at (816) 960-8412.
