Child Neurology Residency - Faculty and Residents

Current Residents

Class of 2024

Justin Coogle, MD: Medical School - University of Kansas School of Medicine Kansas City
Hey my name is Justin Coogle! I am honored to be one of the new Pediatric Neurology residents at Children's Mercy, a place where I feel patients struggling with neurological challenges are not only well managed but loved deeply. I am, to quote my wife, a man of many hobbies and had an odd route arriving where I am. I almost pursued a career in professional gaming (League of Legends), have written my own fiction novel and self-published it, edit YouTube videos, am an avid LEGO collector, and love cinema and film history. I am a man of deep Christian faith and love to pour into my local church. I have even spent a few years as a Sunday school teacher! My wife and I love to go on bike rides, walks, or to just laze around with our two adorable lap dogs. I sometimes wonder how a pediatric neurologist was born out of all that, but each day reveals this is a calling I could not ignore. I am still young in this life-long journey, but I try to stick to these simple tenets to foster a fine physician Kansas City can be proud of: listen intently, love deeply, walk humbly, and always dare to hope.

Class of 2025

Amy Hill, MD: Medical School - Kansas City University of Medicine & Biosciences College of Osteopathic Medicine
I grew up in East Tennessee. I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Tennessee where I also completed the Chancellor's Honors Program, studied abroad in Copenhagen, and worked as a student athletic trainer for the football team (go Vols!). A mentor attended Kansas City University, leading me here to obtain my medical degree. My free time is best spent with my high school sweetheart turned husband, Brandon, and our local shelter puppy, Opie. We were thrilled to match in Kansas City where we enjoy the local parks, attend church at the Church of the Resurrection Downtown, and explore the restaurant scene when not eating food at home prepared by Brandon, a professional chef.

Jaclyn Peraino, MD: Medical School - Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine
I received my Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience with a minor in Gender and Health from the University of Michigan (go blue!). I’ve always loved the brain, but it wasn’t until I worked at a summer camp for teens/adults with severe autism that I knew I wanted to be a pediatric neurologist. Through medical school, I tried to keep an open mind, but this is what I truly love. Other things I love include my puppy, Woods, spending time by the pool/lake, getting dinner with friends (La Bodega is one of my favorites), and "Stranger Things."

Sarah Paige Davis, MD: Medical School - University of Oklahoma College of Medicine

Anne Altschul, DO: Kansas City University of Medicine & Biosciences College of Osteopathic Medicine

Mark Grady, MD: Medical School - Ohio State University College of Medicine
I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the College of Wooster and attended medical school at Ohio State University. I enjoy cooking, baking, eating ice cream, painting, watching movies, listening to old records, and walking around the parks of KCMO with my wife and our dog.

Catherine Tran, MD: University of Missouri Kansas City School of Medicine
