We operate one of the higher-volume
heart centers in the country. Working in state-of-the-art surgical
suites and hybrid-capable cardiac catheterization labs, our
integrated cardiology and cardiovascular surgery teams conduct a
full range of minimally invasive procedures. And our utilization of
advanced 3D and fetal echocardiography puts us at the forefront of

Our pediatric cancer specialists
operate one of the larger childhood cancer centers in the country.
Our growing Experimental Therapeutics in Cancer program, working
with several national consortia, is a leader in making cancer
treatment safer and more effective for children.
Children's Mercy Hospitals and Clinics is a pioneer in nitric oxide
therapy, ECMO and infant lung development. We are also one of only
18 children's hospitals to participate in the Eunice Kennedy
Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human
Development Neonatal Network.
Our team of pediatric endocrinologists offer comprehensive
services, including unique programs for thyroid nodule and
carcinoma, Turner syndrome, insulin resistance, calcium and vitamin
D disorders, cystic fibrosis and other disorders.
We operate one of the of the highest-volume pediatric
gastroenterology programs in the country with more than 17,500
outpatient visits each year. Our specialists are leaders in
advancing clinical care, improving outcomes and pioneering research
that is redefining care for children in Kansas City and around the
Children's Mercy is one of two clinical coordinating centers for
the NIH-funded Chronic Kidney Disease in Children (CKiD) study. Our
kidney transplant outcomes are among the best in the nation. And
we're pioneering new approaches to treat peritonitis,
hypophosphatemic rickets and other kidney-related disorders.
Children's Mercy is home to a growing pediatric pulmonology and
sleep medicine program. Our accredited Comprehensive Sleep
Disorders Program is advancing multidisciplinary care and research
collaboration in areas such as intravenous iron treatment of
restless leg syndrome, craniofacial disorders, Down syndrome,
obesity and behavioral issues related to sleep.
