Welcome from the Program Directors
Thank you for your interest in the Pediatric Residency Program at Children’s Mercy Hospital. We are very proud of our program and our residents and are happy to provide you with any information you need to make the difficult decision of choosing a residency program a little bit easier.

We pride ourselves in providing our residents with a comprehensive, thoughtful, and rewarding education. We do this by maintaining a balance between education and service, humanities and science, and personal and professional satisfaction. This balance encourages our residents to think broadly while preparing them to make educated career choices that best fit their professional and personal goals. We take pride in preparing and supporting our residents equally in almost any career path they choose.

Our faculty recognizes that being mentors and training future pediatricians is a privilege. They encourage our residents to gain confidence and independence as they progress through training while providing a collegial educational environment that allows them to thrive. Whether they are serving as individual mentors or group educators, our faculty enthusiastically embrace their role.

Our true strength, however, lies among our residents. This is an outstanding group of physicians who have the unique ability to be intellectually curious one moment and unbelievably compassionate the next. They are the reason we have chosen a career in pediatric education.

Thank you again for visiting our web site. We invite you to call us with any questions you may have. The best way to truly see what we have to offer, however, is by coming by and judging for yourself.
