International Patient Program
Each year many patients travel to Children’s Mercy Hospital of Kansas City from other countries to seek pediatric care that the experts agree, is among the most highly developed available in the world. Some come for our advanced pediatric treatment capabilities, and some seek the services of our renowned physicians. Nevertheless, whatever brings them, each patient receives unsurpassed professional care delivered with an awareness of respect for the diverse cultural values of the international community.
The International Patient Program provides a single point of access, service and coordination for international patients and their families. International inquiries for treatment are reviewed through an evaluation and triage protocol, including an assessment by a multi-disciplinary team. On-going specialized customer service ensures that communication is centralized and customer needs are met.

Our Objective
Our objective at Children’s Mercy Hospitals & Clinics is to facilitate international patients to access services available for children in pursuit of the most advanced pediatric care offered by our institution. We understand the difficulties of managing healthcare in a foreign setting; for that reason, we will assign an International Patient Coordinator to guide patients and their families through the process. He will coordinate any medical, financial, or service-related needs or inquiries that need to be addressed.
