The Eating Disorders Center provides specialized outpatient services to children, adolescents and young adults for the evaluation and treatment of eating disorders, such as Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, and related eating concerns. Our affiliation with a respected children’s hospital allows us to address the full scope of symptoms that can accompany an eating disorder.
We utilize a multidisciplinary treatment approach and are staffed by specialists in adolescent medicine, child and adolescent psychiatry, psychology, nutrition, and social work. Our team focuses on the complex medical, psychological, and nutritional issues which contribute to an eating disorder.
Our services include medical evaluation and ongoing management, psychotherapy, nutrition services, and family-centered programming incorporating the role of the family and support system in the treatment process. Our approach to wellness includes setting positive goals for nutritional health and body image, enhancing coping skills, and establishing a treatment plan for achieving and maintaining recovery.
Frequently, you will see the image of a sunflower within the EDC website and program materials. Why is this?
Sunflowers are a powerful symbol for recovery, as they always turn toward the sun, even when their surroundings are cloudy or overcast. To some, the sunflower promises power, warmth, and nourishment - all attributes of the sun itself.
