General Information

The Operating Room mission is to provide a safe, effective, and patient centered environment for patients undergoing surgical intervention through adequate staff training and specialty nurse assignments.

The Operating Room performs procedures in the following specialties:

Pediatric General Surgery
Neurosurgery
Urology
Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery
Orthopedics
Cardiac
ENT
Ophthalmology
Oral surgery
Dental
Gynecology
Hematology and Oncology
Transplants (liver and kidney)

We feature an all RN staff, and we have a high percentage of nurses certified in perioperative excellence (CNOR). We work closely with the anesthesia department. Our instrumentation and equipment are specific to the pediatric population, and our nurses are skilled at caring for the pediatric surgical patient.

We have 14 operating rooms furnished with monitoring, safety, emergency equipment and ante-rooms. Each operating room is designed for a specific specialty, i.e., orthopedics, cardiac, general endoscopy.

Patients range in age from neonates to 21 years.

The regularly scheduled hours of operation are 0700-1730 Monday through Friday. Operating Room services are available 24 hours/day, 7 days/week. After-hour or emergency hours are 1730-0700 Monday through Thursday and 1730 Friday to 0700 Monday.
