Tips for Interviewing
Research the business before the interview.
Practice interview skills.
Go alone, do not take friends.
Greet the employer with a handshake.
Make frequent eye contact.
Smile, be polite, and try to relax.
Be sure to listen carefully to all the questions. If you don’t understand or did not hear a question, ask the interviewer to restate the question.
If you have worked before, talk about what you learned from your employment experience.
Use examples of how your skills and abilities will fit the job.
Bring a sheet of paper with at least three references with telephone numbers and addresses.
When the interview is over, thank the interviewer and shake hands.
Two or three days after the interview send a 'thank you' note highlighting the job you are applying for and why you would be a good fit.
