Thanks to the genorosity of Kansas City's own PGA golfing great Tom Watson, the Tom Watson Emergency Department at Children's Mercy South opened in 2011.

It is the only pediatric emergency-service provider in the southern half of metropolitan Kansas City, with pediatric physicians and pediatric nurses available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Other staff includes pediatric radiologists and all other pediatric allied health and support staff in-house 24/7.

Establishing an emergency department at Children's Mercy South allows us to provide the best care to children with immediate needs.

The Emergency Department accepts ambulance traffic and provides access to a limited scope of pediatric surgical and radiology specialties.
