Pediatric Residency Program
Med/Peds
The Combined Internal Medicine/Pediatrics Residency Program at the University of
Missouri-Kansas City is a strong academic program that boasts of its participants,
graduates and their accomplishments. Located in the heart of the Midwest, our residency
offers a quality training experience in an affordable and livable city. Our residency
program is comprised of three individual hospitals that come together to provide an excellent
education.
Our program provides the environment and teaching services needed for a successful experience,
but our personnel make the residency program excellent. Our residents are hard working,
intelligent and dependable; but they are also feisty, opinionated and unrelenting. This
combination results in a constantly changing program that meets the needs of our individual
residents. Want a board review class? Rely on the med/peds residents to begin and sustain it.
Want to change a clinic procedure? They will aggressively pursue the goal until it is
satisfactory. And our small group of residents bands together to promote and protect each other
with the upper level residents constantly checking on the first and second year residents.
Our faculty is dedicated to the success of the Med/Peds residency and meet with the residents once a month to discuss any potential problems. This lunch activity also allows us to remain attune to the specific needs of the Med/Peds residents.
Kansas City is a great place to live and raise a family. It provides a wide spectrum of activities from the Kansas City Royals (major league baseball) and the Chiefs (national football league) to the Lyric Opera and some of the best jazz you will ever hear. Our city is proud of its outdoor activities and provides walking, biking and nature trails throughout the metropolitan area. And for those with voracious appetites, the best barbeque in the world is available here (my own opinion).
Explore our information and then come visit us! We know that all we have to offer will pleasantly surprise you.
