Dr. Apodaca currently is a Psychologist in Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics for the Children’s Mercy Hospital. He holds professorial appointments in Pediatrics at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine and in the Department of Behavioral and Social Sciences at Brown University.

Dr. Apodaca’s service to the discipline of Psychology includes memberships on the American Psychological Association (1997-present), Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (2010-present) and is an editorial reviewer for periodicals such as Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology and British Journal of Clinical Psychology. Over the past 11 years, Dr. Apodaca’s research has produced over 20 peer-reviewed publications which include highly cited reviews on clinical psychology and addictions/substance abuse. He has received continuous research support from NIH since 2004.
